Dear Mr radev:
I am the student starting to run MEAD in HLTC,HKUST,
Now,I have installed the MEAD-ralated tools and MEAD,but I have
encountered some perl problems with MEAD.
My system is Redhat8.0,and Perl 5.8.0 in this Redhat8.0.
Just as I followed the document to execute "./mead.pl GA3",the errors
go like this(I've also attached 2 screenShots about these errors):
"Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected continuation byte0xa1,with no
preceding start byte) in requir at
/home/mead/bin/../lib/Essence/Text.pm in line 21"
followed about 20 such errors, other 2 errors appear:
"no element found at line 1,column 0,byte 0 at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/XML/Parser.pm
line185

I've checked on the Internet about such errors, lots of people using
perl have encountered similar errors. They explain such errors that
'Perl mis-interprets some non-utf-8 files as utf-8 files'
Please forgive my humble errors,I am a new kid in MEAD.Would you
please tell me whether you've encountered such problems or not.If
not, what is your system environment running MEAD.
    Thank you very much.

All the best wishes
Yours Long Yimin
